My friend Pete and I were having a discussion yesterday about the importance of living your life in each moment fully, and just how to achieve it. My comment was that its of paramount importance to realize that, with every new thought or action which comes to you, you have a choice whether to allow your mind free rein or to change that pattern and consciously choose your thought forms. If no choice is made, the mind takes over, as a sort of default program, and leads you on with its agenda, which is usually comprised of a fear based future reality or some past problem. My feeling on this is that the mind was not designed to take on such a huge responsibility, and it freaks out, running its agendas , almost without our permission. To even have the realization that we have a choice is a big step towards cultivating inner peace and harmony in our thought forms. We can choose to allow our higher self, or spirit to guide us just by gently redirecting our thought patterns and forms . Make the choice now…….. I am interested in your thoughts on this one.
Yeehaw! The elections are now over and its on to the task of reorganizing our world, moving from a consumer driven economy to a heart based economy. Just how will we take on this task? I feel this is all about our movement as a people energetically from the Divine Masculine to the Divine Feminine. Don’t get me wrong, here, guys, I see Masculine energy as a good thing, only we , as a society, have taken it to its extreme, and in doing so have created a good bit of dysfunction in our world. But, we had to take the Masculine to its extreme for us to have the full experience. So now we are swinging the pendulum back to heal ourselves and our Mother Earth by consciously retooling how we operate into exploring more of the Feminine aspect of ourselves.
Let’s look at defining these two energies. Divine Masculine in its balanced state reflects the active principle, that of doing and moving forward; paraphrased popularly as ” get ‘er done” in our society. This energy can also be protective in nature, sometimes aggressively so, exhibiting its power overtly to the world. At this point in our evolution, we have taken it to its extreme in the form of wars and violence, and oppression against women, due to it not having been properly balanced with the expression of the Divine Feminine. In our thinking, it is also the logical, rational “age of reason”, state of mind, and when allowed to run unchecked it becomes mind-dominated and ego driven. This Masculine thinking energy gone wild is the mind which tries to run us continually, and its expression is the confusion and mess of our outside world. Divine Feminine in its balanced state reflects the receptive principle, that of being and allowing, working with the energy fields to draw energy and form into itself, allowing what has been set into motion by the Masculine to be birthed. It manifests by magnetic pull rather than action. It is the gentle, intuitive side of the human experience, nurturing what has been created. In the past, the Feminine also dominated our societies and went out to its unhealthy extreme, and then the pendulum swung back to allow the Masculine to take precedence in our lives in order to balance us out, But now its time for us to explore more of the the Feminine again, to begin using both the Feminine and Masculine to create the perfect balance of being and doing in our lives.
We must focus on our own inner work to bring ourselves back into a truly balanced state with our Masculine and Feminine sides, so that we can begin to reform our outer world. Creating a daily life focused on a state of being more than doing and living a heart-centered philosophy will begin our transition into a more connected life, bringing our world into a balanced state using both the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine energies. Any ideas on this?
Seems like the topic of the day here is about boundaries and unconditional love. This morning, I was talking with one of my Life Coaching clients about this. She was struggling with the concept of unconditional love, she was feeling it means there are no boundaries to be set. Love is Love, she said. I was talking about how Unconditional Love is always loving but also loving someone enough to create those boundaries , for we all need them in our relationships for them to be healthy. Loving is not allowing others complete free rein over us. It is about loving them enough to let them know appropriately where our own personal boundaries are, with loving kindness, sometimes with firm loving kindness. Occasionally, it takes a whole lotta love to set and maintain those boundaries, especially when the other person (or animal) is having hard time with it. I use my horse Rubicon, as an example here. He is coming off a one year layoff, he has not been ridden much during that time. So now that he is being worked regularly and is adjusting to his new (old) routine of being ridden again, he’s testing me and looking for some boundaries about who is in control, he likes the attention of being ridden but would like to stay on vacation, so to speak. So he resists being seriously worked ….he needs me to say, yes you do need to do this. This is our agreement, for you to be ridden one hour several times a week, the rest of your time you have to yourself and can do as you wish….. My part of the agreement is to care for him and further his training by riding him. He really needs to know I love him and honor him by setting the boundaries of our relationship , much as I would do in a relationship with another human, although the boundaries for a human relationship would have another flavor than the human -horse one does. So, how do you feel about unconditional love and boundaries?
This summer, we here at Yosemite went through the life changing experience of a 100-year fire. Our house was the very first group evacuated, although we had spent an agonizing 24 hours waiting to see just how close the fire would get. Luckily, my guidance had instructed me to begin moving animals out before the official evacuation began and the energy in the neighborhood had built to panic status. All the animals cooperated with grace and ease, the horses went calmly into the trailer for the first load , and the barncats were close by and allowed themselves to be placed into their carriers. However, KIlmer, the siamese rescue cat, was another story. I had enticed him into the house earlier in the day, but his problem was that he had never been successfully placed by a human into a carrier in his three years on this planet. When I moved to Yosemite, I had spent three weeks feeding him in the carrier to allow him some sort of ease going in there, he has a very intense fear of being trapped and even then I had to be very swift closing the door or he would bolt out. I didn’t have time to coax him in with food now.
When we came back to the house after dropping off the first load of horses, the atmosphere in the neighborhood had completely changed, The sky was orange and black, no more sun or blue there, the quiet was stifling, no birds or insects made a nose, and the energy in the air hung heavily. It was spectacular, and definately awe inspiring in its finality.
My friends Rick and Maryann arrived just in time to take the second load of horses out to safety, along with the barncats. As they pulled out, the sheriff rolled in and told us we had FIVE minutes to leave our home. I lied through my teeth as I told him, no Problemo, we just had one more cat to catch and we would be gone. As my friend Cindy and I entered the house, out bolted one Siamese cat. uh oh now we were in trouble. This cat had never allowed anyone to pick him up while outdoors. Luckily he ran to the open garage door and then eventually into the house. Whew. Now we put the carrier in the bedroom and in a few minutes kitty went in the bedrom too. He was very panicked, he could feel the fire energy approaching.
As I sat on the bed I wondered just how I was going to pull this one off, while KIlmer ran laps around the bedroom. He would not allow me to approach him, at all. I talked to him to entice him to come to me. NO luck. So I sat and breathed and asked for serious help from my guides, they had directed me all morning, hopefully they would assist me now. Just as the cat calmed down and stayed on the bed with me for more than thirty seconds, there was a huge noise on the deck, another friend was here offering her help. I tried to wave her away for a minute, but the cat was under the bed in a flash. To him, a stranger meant “danger, Will Robinson!” So I left the room for a few minutes to thank my friend for coming. Just one more cat to catch, oh no problem! Fake it till ya make it they say!
Back to sitting on the bed and focusing on breathing to calm my energy and impart a sense of NO Problemo to the cat. Oh well, if I cant take him and he stays, he stays, what can I do? He’ll have to take his own chances. Somehow, somewhere, here , EVE, I told myself, stay NEUTRAL. no worries. Allow the kitty to come to you, don’t force the energy. Be patient. You have plenty of time.
OOOOOh KIlmer, my little seven pound ZEN master. Please help me now. And so, miraculously, Kilmer began to slow down the running of his laps around the bedroom, spending more time on the bed with me. He finally came close enough for me to touch., I stoked him, but withdrew my hand before he walked on by, playing a subtle approach and retreat game with him, leaving him wanting more touch with each lap . After a few more laps he was in MY lap. Ohhhhhsweet success , KIlmer totally relaxed and actually melted into me, seeking the security of his human .
Now the task was just how to get him into the carrier, I stroked him for a few minutes and just knew he’d allow me to place him inside of it……and guess what ? In he went. I was so relieved. oh m goodness. He let me set him in his carrier!
As we drove away from our house I looked at the orange and black sky and thanked Spirit and especially the cat gods for being there 100 percent for me and guiding me fully .
Our home survied the fire although the flames came within a quarter of a mile from us….we were the lucky ones, several of our neighbors lost everything in this fire. It created an intense cleansing for all who live here, We continue to sort through the pieces it left us, in a good way.
Fall is here! The Fall Equinox is upon us. What a wonderful time to feel the glory of our Mother Earth. With all the many changes and shifts that are upon us and the challenges in the human world, it is so important for us to live in our heart centers as much as possible, for our heart energies are healing our Earth and she needs us to be here for her. Use the energy of the Mother and connect with her, and she will sustain you in all of your more “human” contacts . For we are here to channel and mix the energy of Spirit through our 7th chakras and up through our 1st chakra from the Earth and mix them our heart chakra and express this blended energy out into our world. This energy helps to heal the fallout from the changes that are upon us. Be as a spinning vortex of this heart energy and send it out to all that are in need of it and ready to receive it.
I would like to tell you a story of a moonlight walk I took in Yosemite this week, it was truly a transformational experience. I drove there in the early evening so I could catch the rising of the full moon. My dog Dianna and I started out by the Merced River, which was flowing strongly, the water being at its highest level of the year from the snowmelt. We spoke our prayers and tuned in with the Water Spirits. We Tao a walk up the road by the river, it was so quiet in the twilight time, and as we walked by we greeted several groups of people on the otherwise deserted road. The water in the river rushed and even roared in places, it filled our senses as we walked to the base of the Grandfather, El Capitan. He was majestic as he became enveloped in shadow as the twilight wrapped around us. His presence was so strong and solid yet at the same time welcoming . His forceful energy came out to meet us as we stood in the apron of trees at his base. The song he sang to us was one of his blessing and continual support for us on this earth. A little while later it was time to go , the river called us on to our next destination. We walked back to the car and drove down the valley to a waterfall which is close to the road, it was dark now as the moonrise approached.
The spray from the waterfall hit us as we walked up to the boulders at its base. The power and force of the water was impressive as it roared, we were surrounded by cascading water at all levels , above us, and below us, as we stood there. Rushing water was everywhere! Oh the songs it sang to us, of life and the sacredness of it , of the joy of being present on this blessed Earth.
And then the boulders themselves spoke to us , come up to us, they said, we are the guardians of this portal, step with us into the next dimension. We paused, and absorbed this message, is this the way to go, Yes, was the answer, go through the portal. We took our time as it was very dark now, and slowly picked our way up to the large boulder that had spoken to us. We climbed over it and leaned against its face on the other side. We had stepped through the portal and now were in the next dimension. As we breathed and relaxed into it , soaking up the new energy it brought us. What does this feel like? The comfortable unknown, since it was an energy we had not ever experienced before., but was pleasant and welcoming. As we stood before the rock walls that surround the waterfall , a light begin to illuminate them….slowly they came into more form up top, the granite silvery and the trees still dark, and it all began to glow. All this time the water itself roared around us, enlivening us with its spray. The light continued to brighten until the entire wall and fall of water was glowing in bright light. The moon was up! This was what they wanted us to seeing this new dimension! The moon, bringing us this new energy , was here! How glorious! It was majestic and calm and oh so powerful in the quiet.
As we walked back to the car and began the drive down the canyon to home, we were aglow in this wonderful new energy , and it will always be in us, its a part of us now.
For a few minutes lets think of ourselves as our own personal cake. In this lifetime, we are perfecting our secret recipe, kind of like for the Betty Crocker bake off. We can add and subtract new ingredients as we go along, trying different flours, spices, and gooey things like marshmallows and such. We are continually in process, either mixing it up or baking it.
Sometimes it gets a little wild when we get a new wave of energy, and the mixer gets turned up from stir to beat or even whip, and our batter gets thrown all over the place, by accident or design, then we have to be scraped up and thrown back in the mixing bowl, and pray that the speed gets turned down soon.
What type of cake are you? Some people are like an angelfood cake, white and light and airy, do they seem to go through life effortlessly once they have been baked? The mixing can be a little bit tricky for them, though, gotta make sure the cream of tartar is very fresh for them so that they rise properly. Some even add bits of fruit to their cake, like an Italian panettone. I think of myself as a devils food cake, rich and dense, passionate and driven, you have to be ready for some major chocolate for this one.
The baking phase can be one of waiting, cultivating patience, hoping that the correct temperature has been set and that the oven is functioning properly. Also during this phase most people , if they haven’t chosen it already, begin to consider what type of frosting will go best with their cake. Perhaps the cooling phase is where we wait to manifest the perfect frosting, we must wait for spirit to send to us the right and perfect one, it can get tedious, remembering that old adage “He that can have patience can have what he will”. Plus, the cake is just not complete without the frosting or icing, and of course, frosting is no good without the cake.
If the cake is your own self, then the frosting must be your romantic relationship. How sweet! Of course, frosting comes in all forms, cream cheese, fondant, 7 minute, whipped cream with berries, icing, powdered sugar, etc. I feel like my frosting is more like chocolate fudge on my cake. Of course, the timing of the arrival for the frosting must be right, too, the cake must be baked and cooled properly before the frosting is put on it. I feel that with all our healing and spiritual work, we are perfecting our recipes, and that romantic relationships are, indeed the frosting on our cake. Frosting and cake work well together, creating a sumptuous combination in our lives. Every bite is a complete joy.
What flavor is your cake?
